Polefit Bedding's Favourite Breakfast In Bed Recipes

Did you know 24th - 30th January is Breakfast Week? Although of course here at Polefit Bedding we think you can't beat a leisurely breakfast in bed, when it comes to your morning meal that's unfortunately not something most of us have time for on a normal day!

However busy you are, you should avoid skipping breakfast and ideally have something wholesome to eat in the morning everyday. Eating breakfast is vital to ensuring high energy levels, good concentration in your daily activities and overall long term health.

Breakfast Week is a yearly event organised by Shake Up Your Wake Up to champion the importance of eating a good breakfast and get people thinking about ensuring they have a nutritious start to their day. There are events taking place in schools, shops and markets across the country, with competitions, special menus, activities and recipes being shared to celebrate the most important meal of the day.

Why not celebrate breakfast week by treating yourself or a loved one to breakfast in bed this weekend?

Huevos Rancheros

Translated as "rancher's eggs" this traditional Mexican breakfast is the perfect dish if you like a little hint of spicy to kick-start your morning! Consisting of salsa, refried beans and fried eggs served on a corn tortilla and garnished with coriander and lime slices - it's a hearty start to the day and makes a delicious, flavorful brunch for lazy weekends. Find a great recipe here.

Homemade Granola

This popular breakfast cereal is actually very easy to make at home. Not only does homemade granola taste better than shop bought varieties but from a simple base of oats, dried fruit and nuts & seeds you can try out all sorts of flavours and  create your own concoctions using ingredients you love. This recipe from BBC Good Food is a great starting point.

American Pancakes

Topped with lashings of maple syrup and maybe slices of streaky bacon on the side; if you've got a sweet-tooth then fluffy American-style pan cakes are the perfect breakfast in bed for you! Cookery queen Nigella Lawson has an excellent recipe you can follow.
